Dermal Fillers Q&A

Is Dermal Filler for Me?
Ageing is a natural process and many people want to feel good for their age with a natural look and seek out ways to help them achieve that without cosmetic surgery. This may be the treatment you have been looking for.

Which areas of the face can be treated?
The folds between the nose, mouth and down to the chin are the most common areas.  These give exceptionally good results with one or two syringes of filler.  Other popular areas are the lips for subtle augmentation, folds between the eyes and on the chin.

What kind of filler do you use and why?
We use a variety of premium products tailored to the individual including Belotero and Juvederm Ultra.

How long will the treatment take?
Treatment with Dermal Filler can take as little as 15 minutes but may take longer depending upon the areas you want treating.  An anaesthetic cream might be applied to the area prior to your appointment to ease any discomfort. However, for lips or larger areas a local anaesthetic nerve block may be used.

What happens during treatment?
Using a very fine needle, your doctor will inject the filler beneath the surface of the skin. He may need to inject slightly deeper to treat more severe lines. This will have already been discussed and agreed in the consultation with the doctor.

What happens after treatment?
After treatment, slight swelling and small red marks may appear but will fade over the following hours.

How long will it last?
The results of treatment are not permanent but in most cases last for 8 to 12 months so repeat treatment will be required.
